Description : Born in Donetsk, Ukraine; Andrii experienced a great shift in humanity. In the past his home was beautiful, rich and vibrant. But with the rise of The Donetsk People's Republic he saw: landmarks shredded, war zones erupt and friends and family die.
Andrii wanted no part in this war and couldn't grasp the political slip that his once great country and fallen victim to
It was during the great Orange Revolution a momentous day in Ukraine where nationals rallied together to dethrone the evil and corrupt president Viktor Yanukovych, that Andrii found his true calling. When the authorities arrived, riots broke out, chemicals were used as weapons and many people were killed or left injured. In the morning people woke up around the aftermath of the previous day to hear 3 crows perched on the statue in the centre square. They represented the fallen ones and were labelled Shura, Bora and Gale.
With the evergrowing tensions and the passing on of his father, on Andrii's 18th birthday he looked to escape his homeland and move on to bigger and brighter things. It was a dark wet winters night and as Andrii waited, shrouded in darkness by the cover of the shrubs around him, he glanced over at border security. He knew this would be the best way through to Russia he just needed to be patient.. Lightning crashed down and the electrocuted fence conducted the blast, short circuiting the system as well as the lights that lit up the area. It was then a that a truck came through, with the confusion of the lightning, Andrii took his chance and ran for the truck. As the truck pulled up to the gate the disgruntled guards took extra precaution checking the seats and the contents of the truck, they examined every nook and cranny one guy even checked underneath! Satisfied, they let the truck through. Andrii's quick thinking had made him choose the best place to hide, the electricity was out, so so were the cameras on the top of the control tower, as well as the lights. He had climbed on the top of the truck, laying flat, sprawled out, there was no way anyone could see him.
The truck eventually stopped in a small town called Gukovo. It was here that Andrii got off the truck and walked to the nearby shop, it was locked but the backdoor luckily wasnt. It was a small neighbourhood, he knew no one would be too security conscious. He filled himself up and got some rest, in the morning taking a few supplies with him. It was going to be a long journey ahead of him...
It was a long journey into Rostov-on-Don. Andrii had managed to take a couple 10,000 Ruble and got his way onto a train, he didn't have a passport so he knew the next part of his journey would be difficult. If he was found to be a Ukrainian immigrant especially between Donetsk and Crimea he would certainly be in a lot of trouble, even more so if they found the tattoo of the 3 crows on his upper right shoulder - a now strong Ukrainian Nationalist symbol - which they most certainly would.
Andrii was a duelist, not a great one he must admit, but he liked the look of the cards and he knew they represented more than just ink on paper, his cards were from his homeland and they were 3 very rare cards that could be worth his life: Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind, Blackwing - Bora the Spear & Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame; Gale, Bora and Shura... The 3 crows. He had tried to construct a deck around these 3 powerful cards but he couldn't afford to buy any cards before today these 3 cards along with the other 16 in his 'deck' were found not bought. In bins, left on tables, by the sidewalk. However the 3 Blackwings were not found this way. He held them in his hands as he contemplated the night he found them.
It was the night of the Orange Revolution after the bloodshed, as the clock struck 1am Andrii was cold and alone, he had been offered shelter but refused. He was in no mood to be social. It was when he saw a fire in the centre, not a big one but a small controlled fire, almost like a campfire underneath the great statue. Andrii walked over, looked around, but saw no one. As he got closer he heard birds squawking around him almost enticing him closer. Then he reached the foot of the fire, as he gazed, transfixed by the fire he noticed something glistening inside the fire. Entranced, Andrii put his hand towards the fire, embers flickered off his hand, he grabbed for the object that had drawn him in and then pulled the object out. As he did so, the bird sounds grew louder and then they suddenly dived for him, narrowly missing Andrii and landing on the centre statue, crows. he glanced down at his hands which were now by his sides, they were unmarked from the flames and holding the 3 cards.
The train pulled in at the station, but everyone had seemed to have disappeared. Andrii must have fallen asleep, he got up and left the train, it was dark again, 24 hours must have passed since he arrived into Russia. He looked around, there was still no one to be seen, as soon as he glanced back at the train it was already shooting off down the track. Nerves began to grow stronger, something was eerily quiet about this place. A pain suddenly shot down Andrii's shoulder, before his hand could reach the pain he had already fallen asleep.
"Hello Andrii" said a voice from the shadows
"Can he hear us?" said a second voice, they were speaking in Russian, but Andrii knew enough of it to work this out.
"The Drug should have wore off by now" Said the first voice again
"Good Job Igor" said a third voice
"Look his eyes are twitching" said the second voice again
Andrii slowly opened his eyes and squinted at the bright lights, what he saw could only be described as a hospital ward, he was lay on a bed wearing a gown with 4 people stood around him, one was a big, commanding black man with a green militant hat. Another was a tall thin man wearing a lab coat and glasses, another was a slightly less large man with bulging muscles and close cropped hair. The final man was stood at the back of the room with a cap covering his face, he was just completely covered in black.
"Ahh so you seem to be with us now Andrii, no questions now you're surely thirsty Vasili go and get the poor boy a glass of water" Said the man with green hat in perfect Ukrainian tongue. As he said that the man wearing the lab coat left the room without saying anything. Andrii tried to talk but he couldn't, his voice was dry, his limbs were heavy and he was undoubtedly scared, but he tried not to show it.
"Now Andrii, my name is Vladimir, Vladimir Kokorin. You may wonder why on earth we have you here. You see Andrii we are what you might like to call criminals, thieves, terrorists. But you see Andrii, that is not true at all. We like to think of ourselves as freedom fighters. For two long our great nation has been trapped by the shackles of the West, their flashy cars and pornographic women. 'The American Dream'.. The American Nightmare more like! It was only 30 years ago Russia was the most feared country in the world, now people laugh at us!" Vladimir was getting angry but stopped himself before he could. "Our plan Andrii is to put an end to this." Vasili came back and put a glass of water on the table and stood back next to Vladimir. "You may remember Igor" He glanced back to the man at the back of the room who hadn't moved since Vladimir had started talking. "Or maybe you wont" he chucked to himself. "He was the one who brought you here, but you shouldn't be seeing him not for a while yet. Vasili is this gentleman in the coat, he was the one who set up the cameras in the train and even tracked down your details. Let me tell you didn't make that easy for us without any identification. What was your plan?! Anyway, and now this is Aleksander" He pointed to the large man with close cropped hair. "He will take you to a much more comfortable room."
Vladimir and Vasili left the room. He was now alone with the other two men. Aleksander came next to Andrii's bed and removed the straps around his arms. Andrii hadn't even noticed them. "Drink." Aleksander commanded. he didn't need to ask Andrii twice, Andrii quickly drank the water thirstily. "Come." Aleksander walked out the room glancing at Igor but continuing down the corridor. Andrii got out of bed and Lazily followed, he muscles were still aching. When they got to the room Andrii asked "Am I going to die?"
Aleksander laughed, "No, you are going to save the world". He walked off and locked the door behind him. Andrii was trapped in a large room with cushioned sofa, a bathroom, even a fridge. He opened it, Vodka. Andrii wasn't surprised. The room was well kitted out, but what did Vladimir say "camera"? He knew he was being watched. It was then that Andrii heard the door unlock, Andrii cautiously walked over to it. He tried the handle but someone was holding it.
"Take 5 paces to the right stay close to the wall" - came the voice behind the wall, the accent was unrecognisable. Foreign.
Andrii did as he was told.
The door opened, the cloaked man, Igor. came in and shimmied down the wall quickly. "the room isn't voice sensored but the cameras are watching we are safe here."
Andrii stood still, and absorbed the information.
"You will not speak of me coming, you will not look at me, but when I act you follow, you will not be scared, and you will succeed."
Andrii nodded. Was Igor on his side?
The Next day arrived, and Andrii was in the courtyard, Aleksander had brought him out being as talkative as he was the night before. He had given Andrii the 3 Blackwing cards as well as a Duel Disk and a complete deck to boot. They had been training. Aleksander was teaching him the ins and outs of Duel Monsters. the regiment was machine like, it didn't help that Igor was there the whole time just leaning against the wall, Andrii tried not to think about the night before. Andrii had been silent for the majority of the time. Aleksander didn't understand Ukrainian well and Andrii's questions had been ignored. He felt himself getting brainwashed but he was improving. Later he was with Vasili, he was teaching him english, and teaching him well. It was not an easy language to learn but by the 4th day of the same thing over and over he was pretty darn good at it. He would have to be. on the 3rd Day Vladimir has explained Andrii's role. He was to go to this new Duel Academy in America. He was entered in a competition here he Russia to join and his opponent was to be Vladimir himself so he was sure to win. The winner would get to join the new Academy and also get to meet the president of the United States. it was to be here that Andrii's duel disk would gas everyone in the white house including Andrii himself they said getting him protection would make it too easy to be spotted, then Igor was to come in and neutralise the American Nuclear Missiles. It seemed too easy, yet it seemed so full proof. the chemical Vasili had designed was an isotope of Fluothane that cannot be picked up by any top-end security systems. Vladimir said that no matter how hi-tech security measures can be, there's only ever security for known attacks, that's why the biggest weapon in the world is the unknown, that's why Andrii was to be used, who would suspect such a young boy?
The day of the tournament seemed to rush by Vladimir clearly didn't try but put on a fantastic show, it was hard for Andrii not to be impressed but he was anxious. This was all part of Vladimir's plan and he hadn't had time to think about what Igor said, "When I act, follow"..
Andrii ordered a vodka and coke and started reading up on the Academy, he was on the plane to america and Vladimir had said this would be the best time to make sure he was up to date on American Culture and what he would be getting involved with. He had been given a Ra Yellow jacket which was pretty impressive for a first year. Now he was sat there and everything was about to take place he actually felt quite excited. He was about to enter the land of opportunity, meet the american president! ... And then end it all. But he would be part of it? Surely this was the best opportunity he had ever had? It was then that Vladimir got up and walked off up to the upper deck of the plane saying he had some last minute things he had to put together. With Vasili piloting the plane and Aleksander upstairs with Vladimir, Igor took the opportunity to sit opposite Andrii.
"I hope you have not forgotten what this is about" Igor said putting his finger on his lips. "It has been a long journey for you, and you are about to be the instrumental part of this." Andrii thought back to when this journey started once more, his city Donetsk.. his family, then the Russians invasion of Crimea and the rise of the Donetsk People's Republic. If Vladimir's plans went through. Russia would no longer have to worry, maybe more people close to him would get hurt.
"Igor!" Aleksander had come down the stairs.
"Hm?" Igor looked up at Aleksander, they seemed to stare each other down until Igor eventually got up and walked past Aleksander up the stairs.
"Some of us are here for one thing, others are here for another. Igor is here for money, and you are here for freedom. I hope you haven't forgotten this. You are an illegal immigrant after all" Aleksander said walking past Andrii.
The plane had landed and they were all at a hotel right in the centre of Washington DC about a 10 minute drive away from the White House itself. Andrii had a room to himself, but was currently sat opposite Vladimir at dinner, the others hadn't been invited.
"Andrii, tomorrow you are going to enter the white house, you do not have to do anything but smile and answer the presidents questions. The duel disk has been triggered to activate 20 minutes after we trigger it, as soon as we do this all transmission we have to the device will be cut and they wont be able to detect a thing. You will pass out very quick, but you will not be harmed, neither will the president. in fact no one will even know what has happened until they check the weapons themselves. while you are passed out Igor will be the one to use the presidents key and finger print to trigger the weapons. He will be dressed up as a regular guard and will not leave until 2am the following morning. you will leave as planned and be taken straight to Duel Academy, where you can leave whenever you want and enjoy a new life. It will be good for you and it will be great for Russia. We thank you for your help Andrii" Vladimir had finished his speech, neither of them had eaten much food but the waitress had arrived and and cleared there plates. "Goodbye, Andrii"
Those last two words seemed to resonate in Andrii's ears as Vladimir walked off to his room. 'see you soon'? 'goodnight'? no... Goodbye.
Before Andrii knew what was happening the next day had arrived he was wearing his yellow jacket and he was stood next the the President in front of thousands of people outside the white house. He was talking about the joining of their two great nations and the international Academy that was to be placed right in the heart of America. Eventually the speech ended and Andrii found himself walking into the White House itself, it was phenomenal! He was given a quick tour until the President got bored and took him to the presidential office. Andrii looked at his watch, not an ordinary watch but a timer, 18:25. 1 minute 35 seconds to go. 34. 33. It was then that he looked behind him at the door of the office, it was guarded by two men. along with the other 8 in the air tight room that made 10. but the one by the door was Igor. He was also looking at his watch. What was Igor doing in the room?! If the gas came out surely Igor was to be hit to. What was Andrii to do. 19:20. His mind raced. Russia or America. No that was the wrong question. 19:32. Right from wrong.
"President!" Andrii interrupted, the president stopped talking about the opportunity, and looked at Andrii puzzled. 19:46.
"You need t..." Andrii spurted out, but before he could finish Igor hit him round the back of the head with his elbow. Immediately after there was an explosion from behind the door and a single gunshot hit Igor in the back, he fell to the floor, but the gas was already out, hitting everyone else in the room. Everyone was unconscious. the last thing Andrii saw was Vladimir holding a Mp 443 Grach Pistol. The plan had failed.
"How long left?" Said a familiar voice.
"Another 20 minutes Boss, it's 40x stronger than the stuff we used on Andrii, despite it being inhaled rather than injected we have more than enough time." said another voice.
Andrii was stirring, his muscles ached. it was the same feeling he had when he was drugged before, but they had got it wrong.
"Aleksander, bring him in here. we need his print. hurry"
Andrii opened his eyes, he was in a large metallic room, there was a red button on a control panel with a case protecting it, with some other dials and gadgets around it. Aleksander was dragging the unconscious president towards the panel, Vasili was there at the panel bashing buttons nervously with Vladimir behind him. There were no alarms. Andrii was there. Lying on the floor in a closed room. just the 3 of them. He looked down at his left arm, it was hurting. The duel disk was still there, but upside down, Andrii couldn't believe he didn't see it before! there was a note right on the strap of the duel disk, "Infiltrated. Toxin diluted. Summon for full dosage.".
Vasili had activated the security measures, and was resolving them too. there was a progress bar. 78%. Summon? Andrii drew a card from his deck. 'Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame' He pressed the card on the monster card zone and smoke billowed rapidly out the duel disk.
"What's going on?!" Screamed Vladimir clenching his throat. "the boy!" Before he could utter another word, the 4 of them had passed out.
Andrii woke up. It was a beautiful summer day in Central America and he was lay there in a hospital bed, this one a little more friendly than the one back in Russia. The nurse left the room and Andrii pulled out the letter that was lay on his bedside when he woke up. It was from Igor, it told him what had happened. Vladimir had known that Igor was against them the whole time, and Igor knew this so he had tampered with the duel disk just in time. Just like Andrii, Igor and the guards had woken up early too. Surprisingly Igor wasn't working for the Americans either but for the British, he was a MI6 agent, and despite the precious minutes it took to convince the American Guards what was happening they had managed to save the President and stop the disabling before it was too late. Igor then took Andrii to the hospital as the 2nd strand of Gas was much stronger than the first. He had intended for things to go differently, but he was proud of Igor. It's a shame no one would ever find out about what had happened because a day later he was forced to sign a tacit acceptance procedure. Meaning that he couldn't speak a word of anything to anyone. The letter went on to say how the 3 men were captured and how he would be returning to Ukraine when he was better. That would have been if it weren't for the President, who as a reward decided it would be best to let Andrii go to GXDA anyway; but with a different duel disk! Tomorrow was the day he would fly out and begin on a new, and hopefully much more quiet adventure.

Aporia was born a human;however, his parents arent known. His body was destroyed by very large machines who had been destroying his city.(these machines were brought by the excessive use of synchro monsters). His body had been past the state of healing and the only option was to make him a machine. Aporia then signed an agreement, but little did he know that he would have no recollection of his past. Aporia still wanders the streets of Tokyo to this very day looking to find his past memories

Description : Little is known of this entertaining traveling duelist, except that he has frequent mood swings, and his behavior changes quickly, and drastically. He seems to be arguing with himself, and sometimes even changes hair color during duels.... I wonder why? He seems to be searching for someone.... With a black passion, even callously leaving his friends to die, just to find this person. Who could this person be, and what has he done to our protagonist?

Personification : Before dueling, he maintains a cheery output, and always seems to have a smirk of enjoyment on his face. Another thing he takes as enjoyment would be humiliating his opponent, or just being a badass. This is all usually affected by the color and style of his hair (I wonder why?)
