Ra Yellow Homework

Hello, this is Professor Cipher calling forth all members of the Ra Yellow Dorm. Your goal is to qualify for Obelisk Blue Dorm and move up in the the hierarchy of academia, which is why I come to you with both a great practice to do so and the means to afford your retest. Your goal will be to construct a functioning deck using the theme given to you below that can be both competitive and fun. A side deck is encouraged for the deck as well, so please take that into consideration.

Your assignment will be this: You are to create a deck incorporating either Thunder and/or Reptile monsters into your primary strategy. An assignment such as this should be a breeze for the up-and-coming duelists of GXDA's Ra Yellow Dorm.

Grading Criteria Basics:

Naturally, there will be a reward for completing this homework. You can earn up to 100 DP by turning in a deck that meets or exceeds the expectations of the criteria above. Upon finishing your deck, you can post a screenshot of it in this thread where it will be graded by me. You will be awarded an amount of DP in accordance to how it compares to the grading criteria. You may only complete this assignment once. Other members are free to offer tips and advice that could help make any decks turned in better.

Ah, a classic "combo or die" deck featuring Chain Material and Fusion Gate. If I'm correct, the idea behind this deck is to stall until you draw into your combo pieces and then you loop your Electrum and Worm Zero until you have each piece of Exodia. I'm decently familiar with how Chain Material + Fusion Gates decks work, but I didn't expect to see one turned in as homework. It seems a tad fragile, but that's true of any deck that relies on stall like this to draw into a 2 card combo. In general, I don't think deck will be able to stall long enough against most aggressive decks to be able to pull off the combo, and drawing into Exodia naturally is unlikely. The them was "Thunder and/or Reptiles," and while yes, Worms are Reptiles, I feel like you mostly skirted around the theme by making Exodia your main wincon while making your Reptiles just fodder for a combo. In terms of suggestions, I'd go ahead and fill out your extra deck with miscellaneous utility cards so that you have something to fall back on in case your combo doesn't ever come up. A few rank 3/4 Xyz to round off the lineup could help. Even if you never use them, just having the option is good. Your side deck doesn't seem like it would help you much for the meta, as it's mostly just generic answers to keep your opponent from using S/T or monsters to interrupt you. In the end, the deck appears very fragile and wins with it would mostly likely be a coin toss. It's a fun idea and I won't say it isn't creative though.
