Chapter 3: The Burning Sands

As the ship arrives to the port many duelists are awakened by the gentle rocking of the ship as it proceeds to dock. Once again the intercom crackles as Professor Sartyr makes an announcement, "Good morning once more students! We have just now arrived at the desert and I have a few announcements to make. If you all would meet me at the ramp off the ship I will assign quadrants of the search to each appropriate team among a few other things!"

Shark wakes up after finally completing his Deck with the help of Magiline, takes all of his belongings and walks down towards the exit of the ship, hoping to meet up with the rest of the team before everyone else to get first pick on quadrants. "REPORTING for duty..Prof.Satyr" and stands courageously in front of the professor for the next set of instructions.

Magileine wakes up, and does his normal hygienic routine while listening to the intercom.

He puts his deck box and log in his bag, then puts on his duel disk, and leaves his room, hoping to meet up with his teammates to discuss strategy. However, after the announcement, he realized he didn't really have time to go knocking on doors. Instead, he goes to the ramp of the ship and patiently waits for everyone else. He noticed there were a few more cards in his gift from Solaris. He decides to keep them in his deck, as he feels he probably needs them for the future. In his mind, he hopes the consistency of his deck isn't hit too hard.

Magileine to Professor Sartyr:

Professor, I remember you talked about us making teams of 2 to 4 people. I only noticed 11 of us on ship. They are: Myself, Shark, Ace, Solaris, Zayn, Jaden, Violet, Alex, Alexis, Atticus, and Mike. Is this all of us? I'm just curious. Also, we choose our own teams, right? Or are you going to organize this for us. I'm sure you must have a plan for all of this that will allow us to complete the mission as safely as possible.

Violet woke up with Zayn and followed him. "morning."She had all her stuff with her

"Yeah.. heh.. its fine" She yawns softly rubbing her eyes.

"Mhmm, just waiting for all of our duelists to show up before I begin my announcements." Sartyr nodded (aka I've had an hour of sleep and am gonna crash for a bit, when at least one member of of each team has showed then we can proceed. Until then you guys are stuck waiting for a bit :/)

Magileine to Zayn:

Well, we need to find Atticus or Alexis then I think. I overheard that you have a team of 4. I have a team of 4. Alexis and Atticus were on the boat on while we were at the academy. I didn't notice them yesterday though. Hopefully they haven't gone too far.

Jaden wakes by the noisy sound of the ship docking and whispers to winged kuriboh that they have arrived. Jaden then leaves the room in search of his team.

Yeah I've been chilling in my room waiting for team's the form and the ship to dock.

Mm.. I would do that but lets first scout out the other teams before we head to the professor for information.

Well.. I have friends other friends here on the boat so i want to see if they made a team yet. I fear they might be the most fearsome out of everyone. So I think it would be best to check them out first but I'm not sure of their locations on the boat. We might have to split the team to find them.

As Mike begins to approach the trio of obelisk blues the ship begins docking into the desert. "Shit, I need to form a team quickly." Then the slifer red thinks of the perfect idea. He runs towards the trio. "Hey, my name is Mike I was wandering if we could team up for expedition." He says with an awkward smile.

Mike chuckles at Zane's remarks. "Oh you don't like dead weight? Then let me get this out of my hat then." Mike then pulls off his red cap and shows the trio that its empty. Next the slifer slacker taps on the hat 3 times and flips it, pulling out an seemingly dead bird from the hat. The teen then taps the bird 3 times and it "magically" awakens and flies out his hands. "Well I got no more dead weight." The aspiring magicians says.

Professor Sartyr sighs and looks at the number of students waiting on his announcement as well as the arrival of other students. "Good enough for now," he thinks to himself, "Any who miss it can be informed by their partners."

Clearing his throat he grabs the attention of all nearby students. "Today is the first day we will have to explore this barren desert. To provide for such a tremendous task we have fitted your duel disks with a variety of useful applications on top of their normal use. For those of you with personal duel disks see me before you head out and we will get your duel disk outfitted as well. The main appliances added was a water dispenser that will condense the air and create water in a fairly rapid manner as well as a communications device that will help us stay in contact with you. The reason I needed you guys to form groups was to more efficiently split up who is exploring what part of the desert as well as provide you guys with a kind of safety net in case a duel gets too dangerous. IF and only if you feel a teammate is in danger and you have to save them, you may intercede! Simply get your teammate to agree to do a switch and you will take their place in the duel. However this has a cost. You start with only 4000 LP if you do this and it can only be used once per opponent during the DP of your teammate. We tried to let you do it more than once but for some reason the duel system explodes, I do not recommend this."

Sartyr looks at the bewildered and slightly excited faces around him. "To the main topic. There are four quadrants of the desert that need to be explored. Those taking Quadrant I and Quadrant II will have the furthest to travel, as we are on the southernmost part of the desert nearly due center. I is the Northwestern Quadrant and II is the Northeastern. III is the Southwestern Quadrant and IV is the Southeastern. Now decide amongst yourselves which team is going to which quadrant. If there are any left over Quandrants we will have our Professors explore it! Questions?"
